LIC Offer for Sale Opens on August 4 at a Floor Price of ₹382

As per the latest notice issued by the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Government of India has announced an Offer for Sale (OFS) of equity shares of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

The OFS will open for non-retail investors on August 4, 2026, followed by the retail and employee bidding window on August 5, 2026.

August 4, 2026 – Non-Retail Investors

The bidding window for non-retail investors, including institutional investors, will remain open from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.

Eligible unallocated bidders may choose to carry forward their bids to the following trading day.

August 5, 2026 – Retail and Employee Investors

The bidding window for retail investors, employees and eligible carry-forward bids will remain open from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.

Discount for Retail Investors and Employees

Retail investors and eligible employees will receive a discount of ₹10 per equity share on the cut-off price determined on August 4, 2026.

What This Means for Investors

The LIC OFS provides investors with an opportunity to purchase shares directly from the Government of India at or above the prescribed floor price.

Investors should note that bidding at the floor price does not guarantee allotment. Shares will be allocated under the price-priority method, subject to demand, category-wise reservation and availability.
