Please note that February 19, 2026 is a settlement holiday on account of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
While the markets will remain open for trading, the clearing and settlement activities (pay-in and pay-out of funds and securities) will remain closed for the day.
What this means for you
You need to take care of certain things:
Stocks bought on 18 Feb 2026 will not be available for selling on 19 Feb 2026. So do not engage in BTST trades today.
Any fund withdrawal requests placed on 18 Feb will be processed on 20 Feb (Friday)
Your account balance on 19th February will not reflect the following credits:
Intraday profits from Equity trades executed on 18th February 2026
Credits from NFO and Currency Derivatives trades on 18th February (including options premium and futures MTM profits)
Credits from Commodity Derivatives trades on 18th February (including options premium and futures MTM profits).
These unsettled credits can be viewed in your fund statement.
Please note that the currency market will remain closed on 19th February.
Important Points to Note
Profits and credits from equity and derivatives trades executed on 18th and 19th February will be available for withdrawal on 20th February 2026 (by end of day).
We recommend planning your trades and withdrawals accordingly.
What is a settlement holiday?
Think of a settlement holiday as a "trading-only" day. While the stock market remains open for buying and selling, the actual exchange of money and shares does not happen. This happens because banks or depositories (NSDL/CDSL) are closed, pausing the standard T+1 cycle of settlement of securites and funds. On 19th Feb, because of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, while the markets are open, no setttlement will happen on the day.
How does it affect you?
Since settlement marks the official transfer of ownership of securities, not just the moment you click "buy", a holiday adds a one-day delay. While you can still trade, you’ll need to wait an extra 24 hours for those shares or funds to hit your account.
