- National Stock Exchange of India Limited was incorporated as Public Limited Company dated November 27, 1992 under the Companies Act, 1956, vide Certificate of incorporation issued by the Assistant Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra and commenced its operations pursuant to a Certificate of Commencement of Business dated March 2, 1993
- The National Stock Exchange of India Limited, established in 1992 is the first demutualized electronic exchange in India

- In May 2008, an RBI-SEBI Committee laid the framework for exchange-traded currency derivatives and NSE was the first stock exchange in India to launch exchange-traded currency derivatives on August 29, 2008
- Mutual Fund Service System (MFSS) was launched in FY2009, trading in currency options launched in 2010, debt segment launched in FY13,
